Yemi Alade Faults Social Media For Causing Depression

With increase in depression rate everywhere now, Yemi Alade believes social media plays a major role in this problem.
Yemi Alade said on Twitter on the 8 of January that the social media space is only training people to compare their lives instead of appreciating oneself.. To be honest there’s sense in this.
Yemi Alade wrote on Twitter;
“Social Media is Training us to compare our lives , instead of appreciating EVERYTHING that we are,No wonder everyone is so depressed !”

However, Google describes depression as a mental health disorder characterised by persistently depressed mood or loss of interest in activities, causing significant impairment in daily life. In Nigeria its very common and more than 1.5 million cases per year (Nigeria) are recorded and its treatable by a medical professional and resolves within months
