Arsene Wenger confirmed that Danny Welbeck sustained a groin injury during Arsenal’s 0-0 draw with Chelsea.
Danny Welbeck was forced off after 73 minutes of our goalless draw at Chelsea on Sunday afternoon. He was replaced by Olivier Giroud after going down in a heap on the Stamford Bridge turf.
Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger who was asked for the latest on the striker, and his team’s general performance in his post-match press conference said: “He has a groin problem. I don’t know how severe it is but it looks like a ‘good’ groin problem, not an easy one.”
Wenger claimed that Welbeck’s problem is ‘not an easy one’ but is unsure of the severity of the injury ahead of the Gunners’ EFL Cup tie with Doncaster Rovers on Wednesday night.
Arsenal’s first away point of the season keeps them in 12th place, in a very congested Premier League table.
Most, if not all, of the players who started this
game are likely to be rested on Wednesday as we take on Doncaster Rovers in the Carabao Cup third round.
