Super Eagles defender Shehu Abdullahi set to win N1 million and 10 bags of rice

Super Eagles Shehu Abdullahi is set to be N1 million richer after being voted ‘Man Of The Match’.

The defender who plays for Cypriot side Anorthosis Famagusta – will also be given 10 bags of Big Bull Rice to be donated to a charity of his choice, courtesy of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)’s new partners, Tropical General Investments (TGI) Group.

The Super Eagles on Saturday became the first African team to advance to Russia after taking an unassailable lead atop Group B. It will be their sixth World Cup finals appearance.

Substitute Iwobi blasted home a pullback by Shehu Abdullahi 17 minutes from time to secure qualification.

“We were lucky that Iwobi came off the bench to make the difference,” said Nigeria’s German coach Gernot Rohr.
