SPONSORED: Winner of Church Run/walk to Cart Home N100,000
Word Base Assembly is set to host its maiden five kilometre run/walk as part of its corporate social responsibility. According to the General Overseer of the Church, Bishop Humphrey Erumaka who initiated the event, said the purpose of the marathon was to sensitize people on the need for healthy living through exercise.
Erumaka explained, “Social responsibility is not out of the church’s purview and Word Base Assembly has been involved in it for many years. This Run/walk is one of the ways that we hope to sensitise people on the need to live healthy.
“Running is the king of cardio. Running for even five to 10 minutes a day, at slow speeds is associated with a drastically reduced risk of dying from cardiovascular disease. 20 – 25 minutes of running can transform your mind, body, and soul. These benefits are backed by various scientific studies. It prepares you to cope with daily stress and challenges without getting panicked,” said the Bishop.
The run/walk will take place on April 21 by 6am to 9am. It will begin from Ago round about and end at Ago bridge, Okota.
The winner of the race will win N100,000 and there would be so many consolation prices that would be up for grabs. Registration is absolutely free and those interested in participating should visit www.wordbase.com.ng to register.
“It doesn’t matter if you are a student, professional, businessmen, or entrepreneur, running will help you make the most of your day,” said the Bishop.
