OBJ Comes for Buhari again, says his Government is driving Nigeria towards disaster, instability

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo , Nigeria’s former president, has stated that the country is being driven towards “disaster and instability” by the President Muhammadu Buhari -led government.
The former president made the comment at his Ibogun Olaogun ancestral home in Ifo local government area of Ogun state, in an exclusive interview with Premium Times in May 2019.
It was gathered that OBJ, speaking during the interview, noted that even though Nigeria has made considerable progress since the new dispensation began in 1999, the pace of movement shows that the country may be inching towards disaster and instability.
He said: “I think we have no choice but to be on the path for sustainable development. The progress we are making may be questionable – is it fast enough? Is it steady enough? Is it stable enough? Are we taking two steps forward and one step back or one step side-way?
“You can question that, but we have no choice but to be on (the) path for sustainable development. Any other thing will be a disaster.
“In fact, the pace at which we are going now is tending more and more toward disaster and instability and unsustainability.”
The ex president fell out with Buhari before the 2019 polls and endorsed his previously-estranged former deputy, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar , Buhari’s main rival for the presidency.
