Following the successes recorded from the release of his past efforts, ‘A Great Day’ and ‘Honourable’, one of Nigeria’s fast-rising filmmaker, James Abinibi who is famous for his artistic cum creative digital works is set to premiere his new movie entitled ‘Mentally’.

‘Mentally’ officially premieres on Sunday, September 24, 2017, at the Genesis Cinemas, The Palms Mall, Lekki, Lagos, with some of the finest stars and cast of the movie billed to be in attendance.

Shot in Lagos and Ogun States, ‘Mentally’ tells the tales of Akin, a University graduate who in the quest to eke out a living, embarked on a journey to Lagos. Despite his mother’s warnings, Akin opted on relocation to Lagos where his only contact Emeks (a former school mate) promised him enormous opportunities where he can fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming successful.

Akin’s story is reminiscent of the coming-of-age story that many young Nigerians have to tell.

Starring popular faces such as award-winning actor, Frank Donga as the lead character, ‘Mentally’ also features sultry actress, Toyin Aimakhu, ace comedian, Yaw, Adekunle Gold, Jude Chukwuka, Woli Arole, Senator Comedian, Sunkanmi Omobolanle, Erick Didie, Soma, Wale Waves, and Koloman Prosper.

‘Mentally’ is a comedy, drama and adventure film with a bit of satire in the mix that will thrill every Nigeria due to its relatable story and how it connects with the audience.

Speaking on the project, the movie director, James Abinibi said “the movie takes a cursory look into the life of an average Nigerian who in the quest for survival decided to embark on a journey with little knowledge of what obtains in the new environment. It best explains the quest for greener pastures by young Nigerians in a bid to survive in the usually demanding world we live in.”

‘Mentally’, written, produced and directed James Abinibi is due for cinema release on Friday, September 29, 2017.

The movie is a follow-up to Abinibi’s short film ‘Honourable’, which made the selection for the 3rd Edition of Masharaki African Film Festival
