Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is reportedly set to drop David Luiz from his starting line-up for Sunday’s big game with Manchester United.
Conte worked with a back three for their last training session, with Andreas Christensen featuring ahead of Luiz. AndSunSportssays Luiz could pay a heavy price after the Blues slumped to a shocking 3-0 defeat at Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday.
There has been tension between Conte and Luiz this week, although Chelsea insist there has been no major bust-up. But Conte will consider dropping Luiz — one of owner Roman Abramovich’s favourite
players — against United.
Chelsea could welcome back midfielder N’Golo Kante, who has returned to training following six games out with a hamstring injury. Victor Moses remains sidelined but captain Gary Cahill should start after missing the win at Bournemouth.
Conte’s men who are looking for their first back-to-back home league wins of the season have already equaled their total losses at Stamford Bridge in last season’s Premier League campaign with two home defeats so far this season.
