Ambode on Lessons Learned in Office: “I am more of a politician than a technocrat”

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos, on Monday visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa.
Punch reports that Ambode, the outgoing governor of the state, said it was a “Thank you visit” to the president.
Buhari had visited Lagos in April and commissioned some projects.
Responding to a question on the lessons he learned in office, Ambode said:
You see, every politician learns every day. The fact remains that I came in as a technocrat, so I used to call myself a techno-politician. But I think I am wiser now. I am more of a politician than a technocrat.
Ambode lost his reelection campaign after Babajide Sanwo-Olu defeated him in the APC primaries.
Sanwo-Olu had gotten the blessing of APC National Leader Bola Tinubu and former governor of Lagos prior to the primaries.
Sanwo-Olu went on to win the polls.
